Rachael is a licensed psychologist serving in Lansing, Michigan. She received her doctorate at Wheaton College (2016).

A Third Culture Kid, from a Belizean-Mayan mother and a Dutch-American father—her home life was a cross-cultural affair, heightened by frequent, international moves. By the time she was 20, she had lived in seven countries: in South East Asia, Central America, Europe, North America and Africa.

Rachael has a special place in her heart for Third Culture Kids and for working with cross-cultural workers.

Her early clinical experiences have been in acute psychiatric care institutions, which has versed her in treating psychiatric disorders. She gained extensive experience working with missionaries and pastors, as a staff psychologist at one of the leaders in Mental Health and Missions, Alongside Inc (Richland, Michigan).

Rachael has founded Rain Tree Counseling, PLLC

Having developed expertise in several therapeutic modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) for trauma, and Group Psychotherapy. She resides in Lansing, Michigan with her husband, Sam.
